Compec Experience

Compec is Boğaziçi University's IT club, dedicated to empowering students through training, events, and networking opportunities in tech and entrepreneurship. As coordinator, I led the technology subcommittee, and co-organized events like TechSummit and TeknoDolu, contributing to the university’s tech community.

TechSummit'25

TechSummit'25 is Boğaziçi University's flagship technology event, organized annually by Compec. Bringing together over 2,500+ attendees from across Turkey, the summit hosts panels, workshops, talks, and experiential areas where students, professionals, and startups connect.

This year's edition featured major participation from companies like HubX, Softtech, and EPAM, with a focus on entrepreneurship, cloud platforms, developer growth, and the future of AI. Speakers included senior engineers, founders, and innovation leads from the startup and corporate tech ecosystem.

Held both on campus and via livestream, TechSummit'25 continued its tradition as Türkiye's most anticipated student-led tech summit.

TeknoDolu'25

TeknoDolu'25 is a social responsibility project by Compec, created to introduce children aged 7–12 to modern technology through engaging, hands-on experiences. We designed and delivered a series of STEM workshops featuring VR glasses and 3D motion sensors, making advanced technology fun and approachable. A special emphasis was placed on supporting children from Malatya who had been impacted by the recent earthquake. We worked in collaboration with the Yeşilyurt İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü to ensure educational alignment and outreach effectiveness. Being a key part of this initiative gave us firsthand insight into the power of community-driven tech education.

Boğaziçi IT Awards Night

The Boğaziçi IT Awards is an annual event recognizing excellence in Turkey's digital and tech industries. Organized by Compec, it gathers tech executives, developers, startups, and journalists.

Orientation Day

Beyond major events, we actively contributed to the visibility and onboarding efforts of Compec. During Boğaziçi University's Orientation Day, we set up an engaging booth where we welcomed first-year students and introduced them to Compec's mission, values, and subcommittees. It was a vibrant moment to share the club spirit and connect with potential new members.

Tech Talk with Dr. Binnur Görer, Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft

We had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Binnur Görer, a machine learning researcher and roboticist at Microsoft, for an inspiring session filled with insights on Generative AI, recommender systems, and career paths in tech. The session sparked meaningful conversations and provided students with firsthand knowledge of emerging trends in AI and software engineering.
